Vigyan Bhairav Tantra Meditation Series
This is a six-part e-learning course, with a free introduction, which gives an overview of the teacher; Mahasatvaa Ma Ananda Sarita; the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, and what will be covered in the series.
The series covers the 12 facets of Tantra, as set out in the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. The Vigyan Bhairav Tantra is an ancient text that was written down about 5000 years ago, and is probably much older than that in the oral tradition. It is a dialogue between Shiva and his consort Paravati – she is asking him questions about life, love and meditation, and he answers with 112 sutras. Each one contains a method of meditation.
Osho spoke at length about the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. His discourses on the subject were compiled as the Book of Secrets. Sarita refers to the Book of Secrets many times throughout the series, and it is a great reference guide for anyone practising the meditations.
In each class Sarita covers two of the 12 facets. For each facet she offers two meditations, meaning that four meditations are offered in each class. She then asks that people taking part in the series choose one meditation and practice it at least three times before the next class (in live option). They can then ask her questions about the practice before going on to the next class.
The 12 facets covered are:
- Sex, birth and death; Senses
- Body; Purification and healing
- Love and relating; Devotion
- Creativity; Knowledge
- Elevation to higher consciousness; Silent Meditation
- Subtle energy; Playfulness
